Author's Preface

Since childhood, I have always been fascinated by the unknown world. Even though I developed a slight affinity with Buddhism many years ago, I have always believed that faith is merely a spiritual support, without shaking my firm belief in science and scientific research.

The origin of this book is like a fairy tale. One day on my way home from work, I casually did a tiny act of kindness. Originally a simple gesture of goodwill, it unexpectedly connected me with an almost surreal special group: people with divine connections.

I sought nothing in return, yet the "immortals" insisted on "repaying" me with a ritual. After the ritual, some things were rearranged, and a few inconspicuous items were added. During this time, my pot of nearly withered Money-tree (Pachira aquatica) received special "care". It was deep winter then, and temperatures in the southern region of China had fallen below 5 degrees Celsius, making it extremely cold and damp. Yet, two days later, this pot of completely lifeless money- tree  miraculously began to sprout a dense circle of new buds from its trunk.

I couldn't stay calm anymore.

From a scholar's perspective, I couldn't accept this "half-revealed" "objective phenomenon", so I began a process of diligent verification. By chance, I searched keywords like "initiation", "spirit medium", and "cultivation" via social media platforms. I found the most popular bloggers and saw cases of deities and animal spirits manifesting as humans or possessing people (please discern the authenticity here). These "immortals" are quite powerful; for instance, placing a flowerpot (or other items) on one side of the bed at home, they could "see" it. Furthermore, some can diagnose external illnesses or walk between yin and yang. Some could even diagnose "external illnesses" or walk between yin and yang. In the continuous process of verification later on, I was fortunate to "know" who I am and my past lives...

An interlude. During the God-wooing activities held in Chang-le, Fuzhou (China’s Fujian province), in the 2024 Spring Festival, an internet celebrity cosplaying as Prince Zhao sparked public outrage. Even People’s Daily criticized that local traditional customs should be respected. Looking at the comment section of this news, I saw two completely opposing viewpoints. While most supported and commented in favor, many others felt that despite the advancements in science, how could ordinary people still be so "ignorant"? Most of the latter were actually quite "enlightened" scholars! I had mixed feelings. When your child eagerly asks, "Is Prince Zhao real?" how should parents respond? If you say it's not real, it clearly contradicts mainstream knowledge. If you say it's real but can't explain why, a simple "respect cultural customs" won't satisfy yourself or your child. If you say it could be real or not, suggesting "the end of science is Metaphysics", it seems inconsistent with the "scientific spirit" of "getting to the bottom of things".

What is science? It is the process of seeking truth. It is a process of constant overturning and rebuilding, and only in this way will humanity progress. In human history, for over a hundred years, people have believed that Darwin's theory of evolution is a symbol of science, representing a form of progress through overturning and rebuilding. The pursuit of truth is the foundation of science and the underlying theme of human civilization's development from ancient times to the present.

Therefore, in this book, I intend to explore the "invisible yet objectively existing" real world in a popular science manner, attempting to provide a glimpse of it. I hope to inspire children and those interested in this area.

This book is not a collection of essays; I attempt to record my thoughts from the perspective of a seeker rather than that of a scholar. Many ideas in the book have not yet been scientifically validated and will require time for endorsement. I welcome further discussion.

A few months ago, I did not know I had a mission to write this book. As I write, thoughts flow freely, and the fingers dancing on the keyboard and the words appearing on the screen seem not entirely my own creation. I wish to express gratitude to some authors listed in my references, such as Zeng Shiqiang, Lee Si-cen, and Teacher Liu Feng, who have made pioneering research contributions in these fields. Some formulations here draw on the achievements of their predecessors' research and thinking. I also thank several friends, whose names I cannot disclose at present, for their valuable suggestions, making this book more accessible and aligned with the cognitive processes of most people towards new concepts. I am also grateful that this book, accompanying the cosmic energy, enters your life, causing a ripple, prompting moments of contemplation, and feeling the blessing from God.

Some viewpoints in this book may not be entirely acceptable to you while reading, and you might even find them absurd. There are several possible reasons for this:

1.The author's understanding and judgment of the subject matter may not be completely verified.

2.The reader might have cognitive limitations due to a lack of personal experience (a state similar to what I previously experienced).

3.Language expression deviations, as we cannot achieve absolute precision in all statements.

In response to this, it is important to maintain an open attitude and accept scientific evidence and verification.

Today, living in a globalized and information-driven era, people enjoy the material civilization brought by social development while enduring unprecedented spiritual pressures. Guiding spiritual civilization for peace and development remains one of the most pressing global concerns. People today, more than ever before, urgently need spiritual guidance. The traditional image of monks with morning bells and evening drums, living in seclusion and seeking spiritual purification, is no longer fitting in modern society.

Chinese civilization has always integrated spiritual life into its ideals for individuals and society. The sages of old longed for a world where people's material lives were abundant and carefree, and their moral realms were fully elevated. Therefore, realizing this dream involves the simultaneous development of material and spiritual civilization. As the economy and society continue to develop, civilization will inevitably adapt to the times and radiate even greater vitality.

In several of President Xi Jinping's speeches, a consistent message has been conveyed: for lasting world peace, the seeds of the concept of peace must take root and flourish in the hearts of people worldwide, forming a powerful force against war. Ten years ago, during the China International Friendship ConferencePresident Xi first proposed the "Four Perspectives" that:

"Chinese culture, with its long and rich history, encompasses the cosmic view of the 'Unity of Man and Nature', the international view of harmony among all nations, the social view of harmony in diversity, and the moral view of kindness in human hearts".

This showcased Chinese wisdom to the world.

So, what is the cosmic view of the "Unity of Man and Nature"(天人合一)? After reading this book, I believe you will have the opportunity to stand from a "God's perspective", smile slightly, and ponder deeply.
