Chapter 8-5 The Law of Manifestation

"Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one. "
— Albert Einstein
When discussing the "Law of Manifestation", it is often referred to as the "Law of Attraction" in the bestselling book "The Secret". The stronger the desire, the shorter the time it takes to manifest. From the perspective of quantum mechanics, since everything is a flow of energy, the willpower of a person has powerful energy. Regularly emitting this energy can attract energy of the same frequency, resulting in "attraction", "Quantum Entanglement" or "resonance". It is as if there is a "response" between heaven and humans: what you think about is what you encounter, what you fear is what comes to you, and enlightenment or confusion happens in a single thought.
According to "Superstring Theory", everything in the universe is composed of vibrating strings. These strings originate from vibration frequencies, which constitute the most basic microscopic particles. The resonance of microscopic particles forms everything in the universe. Recall Planck's energy formula mentioned earlier: E = hv (where E is energy, h is the quantum constant, and v is the frequency of vibration). Consciousness itself is vibration, and the higher the frequency, the stronger the energy.
The lowest vibrational frequency belongs to solid matter, such as tables and chairs. Next are living organisms, like plants and animals, followed by the human body. The highest frequency is found in intangible substances, such as human thoughts and consciousness. It can not only affect the tangible energy in the human body — that is, the transfer of material energy from molecule to molecule and cell to cell, but also transcend the limitations of space and produce "quantum entanglement". It is the vibrations of different frequencies that constitute the colorful scenes of all things in the universe. And the same frequency resonance binds things with the same resonant frequency together.
Planck boldly imagined: "All matter originates and exists only by virtue of a force... We must assume behind this force the existence of a conscious and intelligent Mind. This Mind is the matrix of all matter."
The main idea of "Wang Yangming's Mind Theory(王阳明心学)" is illustrated by the story of "the sail moves, the wind moves, the heart of the benevolent moves." We see the sail moving and know it is due to the wind blowing. But what causes the wind to move? The answer is the heart of the benevolent person moving, which means it is our consciousness that moves.
Modern science and quantum physics have discovered that when studying human consciousness, the time a person can maintain focus on an event, an object, or an idea is very short, which is not conducive to the gathering of energy. However, if one can sustain a certain consciousness, or if many people can generate a shared consciousness, the probability of this consciousness manifesting in reality increases dramatically. This is the key to the "Law of Attraction" mentioned in "The Secret": if people can create an image within and continuously visualize it, the probability of this image manifesting in reality will rise sharply. This principle is also the basis for ancient practices such as large-scale ceremonies for blessings and rainmaking.
From an energy perspective, it can also be considered that humans obtain primary energy from food, intermediate energy from the brain, and higher energy from higher spaces. This suggests an important idea: when the environment becomes unsuitable for sustaining life, human life has the option to elevate vertically.
We present 3 "implicit rules" or "convenient methods" for the "Law of Manifestation".
(1)Focus on increasing frequency
Even in three-dimensional space, using the "Law of Manifestation", time can be "extended" or "contracted". This sounds incredible, but in the quantum world, there is almost no concept of time as a linear progression. "Quantum Entanglement" can span distances of hundreds of light-years instantaneously. While the human brain cannot determine time, we refer to Greenwich Time as "Earth time" and the time we perceive as "conscious time". An hour with a lover may feel like a minute; a 45-minute football game may feel short, but a disliked 45-minute class may feel extremely long; patients in the ICU may feel like they have been living for years under the oppressive resuscitation equipments; the first few seconds of a bullfight seem extremely long to the bullfighter; sometimes when you return home after only 2-3 days on vacation, it feels like a week has passed.
Daisuke Murasaki said: "Increasing the concentration of consciousness can rapidly enhance the frequency of consciousness, thereby extending time." For example, in an exam, many students can efficiently complete the test within a limited time, but the same test might seem impossible to finish during regular practice. This is because high frequencies of concentration, love (gratitude), and happiness release a large number of high-frequency photons, extending "conscious time" (e.g., the high brain wave frequency during dreams, which significantly extends "conscious time"). Conversely, low frequencies of laziness, lethargy, and negativity result in a "slow-motion" manifestation of "conscious time".
Frequency is the source of spiritual perception; enhancing frequency can alter spatial resonance and elevate personal energy. Therefore, actions such as placing a pot of green plants in a loved one's hospital room to evoke feelings of love and warmth can alleviate their suffering and make time feel like it passes more quickly for them. This also explains why walking in temples and forests makes people feel refreshed; why "good children are praised into being"; why online classes during the 3-years of COVID-19 pandemic are not as effective as offline classes; why Michael Jackson's live concerts are much more shocking than in front of TV; why it is easier for the home team to win in football games, while live games make fans crazy; why when answering exams, it is always the best principle to start with questions you are good at; therefore, when choosing a university major or job, we must also choose what we love or are good at.
- Manifestation and the "Holographic Principle"
Any quantum in the universe exhibits "Quantum Entanglement" phenomena, but each local quantum is also "holographic". To better understand this, we can use the Buddhist concept of Indra's Net(因陀罗网)as an analogy. Indra's Net is a net made of jewels hanging in the palace of the Heavenly King. This net is adorned with countless jewels, each with a smooth and transparent surface. Although these jewels have no color of their own, they can reflect the colors of all surrounding objects, capturing the images of all the other jewels on the net. Thus, each jewel can reflect the entire universe and contains everything. This is akin to the Buddhist teaching by the Sixth Patriarch Hui-neng(六祖慧能), who explained prajna with the phrase "one is all, and all is one". When the image projected by one jewel changes, this change is instantaneously and synchronously projected onto all the other jewels, with no time lag, as they continuously reflect the reflections within each other.
If we liken our consciousness to a jewel, when it is free from any distracting thoughts and its surface is unobstructed, it can faithfully reflect the true nature of everything in the world. Unfortunately, most of our jewels are obstructed, just as the Sixth Patriarch Hui-neng said: "The body is a Bodhi tree, the mind is a mirror... originally there is nothing, where could dust collect?" What we see is actually a reflection of our inner self. Our significant life task is to remove the "dust", strive to polish our "jewels", so that we can truly see the surrounding jewels, and our light will be reflected onto them as well.
The cosmic "Holographic Principle" is also similar to the concept of "Blockchain", which has gained popularity in recent years. Any point on the "Blockchain" contains all the information on the "Blockchain", making it decentralized and ensuring no loss of information.
On a larger scale, any particle in the universe contains all the information and relationships of the universe. Extending this further, the saying "There is god just above your head" implies that gods can be everywhere (in countless temples and families), indiscriminately capturing all information and energy relationships between people and things in the universe. The gods are with us, and "all sentient beings possess Buddha-nature." Every ordinary person has such potential or ability; the difference lies in whether we can connect and perceive it.
- Direct manifestation of results
Returning to "Indra's Net", your consciousness is a jewel. When you harbor biases, these biases are simultaneously projected onto all other jewels. Consequently, the way you see others and the way others see you will share these biases. This is why, during manifestation, you should not manifest the process nor worry about manifesting negativity. When you change the projection source of the jewel, other jewels will inevitably and indiscriminately reflect your "present moment". If you want to manifest a result, such as having a harmonious marital relationship, the only thing you need to do is to see your wife as ideal through your eyes. All processes, complaints or teachings will only solidify your negative definition of her. The only way she can change is if you directly assign her a positive role. Naturally, she will improve, allowing you to experience the feelings you wish to experience from this relationship.
In fact, no matter who we interact with, what we ultimately experience is ourselves. No matter what role you play or create in a script, it is ultimately you who feel the relationship with the role.
There is a book called "Zero Limits" that tells the story of a Hawaiian therapist who conducted an experiment. In a psychiatric hospital, he didn't diagnose any patients, but only reviewed their medical records and repeated inner cleansing of negative energy. As a result, three years later, all the patients in the hospital were cured and discharged. The therapist's "cleansing method" was simple: "Just take 100% responsibility for everything you face", and in pure love, acceptance and peace, repeat four phrases: "I'm sorry, please forgive me, thank you, I love you."
Reaching the level of this therapist sounds like a miraculous fairy tale, and the difficulty of such manifestation is indeed extremely high. If we can see through and transform our inner troubles into wisdom, we become an enlightened being, also known as Arhats. If we resolve others' troubles as our own, making their troubles the cause of our own wisdom, we will reach the state of Bodhisattva, a state of benefiting others. If, in a larger scope, we turn anyone's troubles into our own troubles and take 100% responsibility for everything, we will become a Buddha who benefits all living beings. Thus, Bodhisattva Kṣitigarbha vowed: "I will not become a Buddha until hell is empty; I will not attain Bodhi until all living beings are saved." He attained perfection immediately. It is not only Ksitigarbha who has such aspirations, but all Bodhisattvas will do the same.
"Affliction is Bodhi."(烦恼即菩提)Any form of affliction presented in reality is an opportunity for us to gain wisdom. All external manifestations are projections of our inner state. As the saying goes: "I see the beauty in the green mountains; the green mountains see me as I am."
Those who are always worried that something will happen and are constantly complaining will find their lives full of various misfortunes. They become like a "perfect prophet": they worry about traffic jams and they are indeed jammed; they worry about delays and they are indeed delayed; they worry about unexpected changes and they are as expected. Such people will quickly lose control of their hearts when encountering a small matter, not knowing that traffic jams and delays are the result of their own thoughts and actions.
I have encountered this kind of person around me. They are extremely intelligent individuals, adept at reading people, and can spot others' flaws at a glance. However, they immediately think about whether the person might take advantage of them and thus remain alert. Such kind of person believes he has sharp insight, often comments on others' rights and wrongs and never shows weakness, maintaining a high and mighty demeanor, destined for isolation and loneliness. They do not realize that the way they see others is exactly how others see them; and the two must be the same.
In my opinion, everyone has their shortcomings, but why not use our strengths to interact with others? In life, even if I am aware of someone's shortcomings, I try to emphasize their strengths. As a result, I often see the positive and bright side of things. I also firmly believe that any effort targeting others is futile because only we are the source of our projections. When we show our best side to others, they will reflect their best side back to us.
Buddha said: "If you speak ill of others, your own suffering is not over. A single thought can create heaven or hell." The world is like a magic mirror, and each of us is a mirror. You cannot clap with one hand. If you cannot see the good in others, is it because you are not good enough yourself? Beauty and ugliness are within us; seeing beauty means you are beautiful, and seeing ugliness means you are ugly. From this perspective, if those around you are excellent, you must also be a good person. If a person can constantly discover and appreciate beauty, they themselves must be beautiful.
This resonates with the main theme of "The Treatise on the Mind's Appearance": "The mind is the root of appearance; by examining the mind, good and evil are revealed. Actions are the manifestations of the mind; by observing actions, one can know fortune and misfortune." Why is face-reading (physiognomy) so accurate? Those with a kind heart naturally have a fortunate appearance, while those with an unkind heart have a harsh appearance.
"The Law of Manifestation" has a "lazy person's" convenient method that can be used to solve most problems "in one stroke": viewing all the people and events around you with a satisfied and perfect perspective, believing that everything is the "best arrangement". With beauty in your heart, your fortune will naturally be bright. Thinking positively about everything gradually changes your aura. When you feel satisfied with everything around you all the time, the only feelings you allow yourself to experience are satisfaction and perfection. Everything will perfectly fulfill your desires in the unseen realm.
Your appearance is born from your heart. What you see, hear, feel, and think, and the good you see in others, are all projections, ultimately because you yourself are good. You are experiencing yourself, feeling incredibly free, incredibly satisfied, and incredibly in love with life.
The "Law of Manifestation" does not directly "pull" the result you want to you. Instead, it requires you to constantly emit frequencies most similar to the result you wish to obtain, directly "moving" to the reality that the energy displays, maximizing the result. For example, if you want to manifest success, do not always fear failure. Strive to think and act like a "successful person". Of course, different things, different people, and different energy frequencies and magnetic fields have varying manifestation times and extents. Do not be fixated on the appearance and process of the expected result. Once a different result occurs and deeply disappoints you, the reality of disappointment will manifest abundantly.
Aside from the "lazy person's" approach, the highest mindset is: life rarely goes as desired, and one should seek half satisfaction in everything. The mind is the Buddha; the present moment is the practice ground, and life is full of practice. Frequently introspect, reflect on oneself, do not complain, let go, be grateful, eat well, sleep well, and go with the flow (but not in a fatalistic way). At the same time, strive to become a seed of positivity, and under the right circumstances, you will receive the blessings of heavenly rain or dew. With this mindset and determination, even the hardest tasks will naturally resolve when the time comes; even the toughest days will reveal a brighter future.
